Ukrainian naval drone explodes new Russian warship (video)

The Ukrainian army carried out a naval drone attack against a state-of-the-art Russian warship.

New Russian shipwreck in the Black Sea. On the night of March 4-5, the Ukrainian army carried out a naval drone attack on the “Sergey Kotov”, a Russian warship. Videos of explosions began to circulate on social networks.

This morning, Ukrainian intelligence published, as usual, a video of their operation. We see several remote-controlled boats racing against the Russian patrol boat which ends in flames.

Ukrainian special forces already targeted this ship a year ago with naval drones. This time, it is a new version of their drone, the Magura V5 launched last summer, which got the better of the “Sergey Kotov”. The device can reach a maximum speed of over 75 km/h and carry up to 320 kg of explosive.

Russian warship deployed in 2021

The “Sergey Kotov” could be the newest in the Russian fleet, destroyed since the start of the invasion of Ukraine two years ago. This patrol boat was deployed in 2021 and reportedly cost the Russian army approximately $65 million. 94 meters long, it could carry different weapons, such as Kalibr missiles.

Ukrainian military intelligence spokesman Andriy Yusov told Radio Svoboda that Russia had “ intending to place anti-aircraft missile systems on the ship. The fewer ships of this type there are, the less anti-aircraft defense there will be. »

The “Sergey Kotov” could well be the 17th Russian ship sunk in the Black Sea, after the destruction of the Caesar Kunikov on February 14. The majority of attacks were carried out with naval drones, manufactured in Ukraine.
