BRUSSELS (Reuters) – Ukraine’s counter-offensive against Russian forces is still in its early stages and it is still unclear whether it will be a turning point in the war, the secretary general of the Ukraine said on Wednesday. ‘NATO, Jens Stoltenberg.

“We see that the Ukrainians are progressing and liberating territories. The more Ukraine gains, the more it will strengthen its position around the negotiating table,” said Jens Stoltenberg at a press conference in Brussels before a meeting of the Alliance Defense Ministers.

Ukraine, supported and equipped by NATO countries, claimed little progress on Wednesday as part of its counter-offensive against Russian forces, citing “extremely fierce” fighting.
