Ukrainian sailor arrested in Mallorca for trying to sink Russian oligarch’s yacht

A Ukrainian sailor was arrested in Mallorca (Spain) after trying to sink the yacht of Alexander Mikheev, CEO of a Russian arms company: Rosoboronexport. An action directly linked to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia.

“The owner of the yacht is a criminal who makes his living selling weapons which are now used to kill Ukrainians,” the 55-year-old sailor told the Civil Guard upon his arrest, according to comments reported by The Guardian .

According to the British media, the 50-year-old had worked for ten years on the Lady Anastasia, a ship worth 6 million euros based in Port Adriano, in the Balearic Islands.

In response to the bombings in Kiev

The man decided to act when he learned that a Russian missile had hit a building in Kiev, his city. He also told the judge that the rocket must have been made by Alexander Mikheev’s company.

After asking the crew on board to leave the yacht, he then attempted to sink the boat by opening the valves in the engine room.

Staff members and port agents intervened in time to prevent the ship from sinking. According to The Guardian, it was still heavily damaged.
