(Reuters) – The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Friday that an inspection it conducted at a nuclear research site in Kharkiv, northeastern Ukraine, found extensive damage but no evidence of radioactive leakage or diversion of nuclear materials.

A team of IAEA inspectors visited the Kharkiv Institute of Technology from November 8 to 10, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said in a statement. Ukraine accused Russia in June of bombing the site.

“Even though the radiation levels are normal, the extent of the damage to this nuclear research facility is dramatic and shocking, even worse than expected,” he said.
