The GZSZ stars Wolfgang Bahro and Ulrike Frank are guests on GALA on TV. They talk to Annika Lau about the time on the set and the downsides that fame brings with it.

Wolfgang Bahro, 62, and Ulrike Frank, 54, are known to most as Jo Gerner and Kathrin Flemming from “Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten”. For many, the two are practically part of the evening routine when they sit in front of the television at 7:40 p.m. or watch the latest episodes in the stream. Both of them are aware that this life also brings difficulties. At GALA they are now talking about their experiences with stalking.

Things ended lightly for Wolfgang Bahro

Wolfgang Bahro has been an integral part of GZSZ for over 30 years. A fact that repeatedly puts him in the public eye and thus also by people who want to approach him in an unhealthy way. At GALA he reveals: “When I was still living in a rented apartment, a person was waiting for me in the hallway. It was a young, very shy girl.” Luckily that was his only experience. “Thank God I haven’t had any contact with male stalkers yet.” The seriousness of such situations is usually underestimated and public figures in particular often suffer from these situations.

Ulrike Frank: “I’ve had bad experiences in the past”

Ulrike Frank also had to deal with stalkers and reports that she has also had worse experiences and that it is directly related to her work. “It hasn’t been that bad yet, but we’re on TV pretty much every day and that makes a lot of people think that we’re some kind of girlfriend that they think they know. That person might have claims and then they might not are met, the situation can change very quickly, which can be dangerous.” There are not only isolated cases here, because many of her colleagues have also experienced stalking: “Some of us at GZSZ have already experienced bad things, but luckily these situations are always dealt with.” Safety and support in the team seem to be particularly important here.

This habit of Wolfgang Bahro gets on Ulrike Frank’s nerves

How well the two actors actually get along becomes clear once again when Annika Lau, 43, asks them which habits of the other would get on their nerves. A question to which Ulrike Frank promptly has an answer: “Okay, in fact, these are the things that sometimes really annoy you, but that you also love so much. For example: Wolfgang is a passionate joke teller. And that’s often really really great, but when you’re already hanging and you really want to move on now, and I might have another date tonight and during a break you start telling a joke and then you can’t continue filming until the punchline is there. So there’s no such thing as interrupting and that’s a bit annoying sometimes, but it’s actually really great.”
