Ultimechs: the Rocket League of VR based lightning-fists reveals its gameplay

Although the developers of Resolution Games had already unveiled the game that interests us here at the end of last year (see the video), the trailer of the time announced almost nothing about the genre of game to which it would ultimately belong. It’s now done with this new trailer:

This game inevitably reminds us of nock (tested recently), even if it differs on several points. First of all, we play robots that teleport and swing their fists like Grendizerwhich will automatically please those who could not bear the physical effort required nock to become effective, and who will be able, thanks to teleportation, to keep their inner ears intact. Second, it will be possible to pass the ball to teammates, something that neither Mini Motor Racing X neither nock ! Finally, the soft graphically looks much more realistic and less minimalist than its counterpart. It will also be possible to customize your robot, without knowing if it will be cosmetic elements or parts that can significantly change the gameplay. On the multiplayer side, Ultimechs will allow you to play matches in duels or in 2v2.

The studio promises us a gameplay precise and impeccable latency, among others:

Ultimechs puts players in control of state-of-the-art machines built for speed and power. Alongside a teammate, each contestant pilots their mech in pursuit of a huge superball that ricochets across the arena. Using quick movements to stay on top of the ball and get ahead of opponents, victory comes with a fist propelled, fired and aimed at the super ball, sending it into the net. The precision, impeccable reaction times, and lightning-fast calculations that victory demands are sure to keep fans hooked.

The CEO of Resolution Games points out thatit will be possible to change the direction of our fists on the fly. To move, know that the arena is marked by teleportation points that you can reach easily. Here again, the studio’s approach is to improve the comfort of the player by inviting him to make as little physical effort as possible while avoiding as much as possible the motion sickness.

Ultimechs is announced on most PC platforms VR and is already available in wish list on Steam. However, nothing has been announced for the Meta Questbut we don’t doubt, in the eyes of the studio, that it’s just a matter of time.

If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can treat yourself to a Meta Quest 2 at the house of Bakerthe Fnac, Darty Where Amazon for €349.99.
