Umbrella Academy on Netflix: an Avenger is hiding in season 3!

Available on Netflix since Wednesday, the third season of Umbrella Academy includes a little surprise for Marvel fans, and more specifically Jeremy Renner, alias Hawkeye.

Netflix series about a dysfunctional superhero family, Umbrella Academy is known for its brilliant soundtracks alternating hits and lesser-known nuggets. And the third season, available since June 22, is no exception to the rule.

The titles Footloose by Kenny Loggins The Passenger by Iggy Pop, Another One Bites the Dust from Queen or Friday I’m in Love from The Cure can thus be heard during the season. But that’s not all: the iconic House of the Rising Sun also accompanies two key scenes of the season.

In the opening of the fourth episode, we find out how Sissy and her son, Harlan, lived after Viktor left their farm. Images that parade to the sound of the most famous version of the song covered in French by Johnny Hallyday, that of The Animals.

The track is then heard at the very end of the episode as the viewer finds out what happened to the mothers of the Umbrella Academy members in this alternate reality. However, it is no longer the version of Eric Burdon’s group that resonates but that of… Jeremy Renner!

Yes, it’s little known, but the interpreter of Hawkeye in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has recorded more than ten songs during his career, including a cover of House of the Rising Sunin 2019, which perfectly illustrates the conclusion of the fourth episode of the third season of the Netflix series.
