Courier for the Tauranga Express, a small New Zealand newspaper, you are a photographer. In the sky fly fighter planes and gigantic mechs, mobilized to defend the oceanic continent against an alien invasion. Soldiers are falling by the dozen, martial law restricts freedoms, and the capitalist has already frayed the social fabric. But despite everything, life goes on; this life, it is up to the player to capture it through their photos. Umurangi Generation VR will be divided into levels faithfully repeating the original work, with increased immersion thanks to virtual reality, of course.
The sole objective is to photograph a list of targets as we see fit. If the Origame developer notes the photos taken according to the composition or colorimetry, these are only indicative remarks, and the real goal is to develop one’s photographic creativity. A host of filters and photo lenses can be unlocked as you progress.
Umurangi Generation VR will be released on April 18, 2024 on PSVR 2 and Quest, the same day as the PS4 and PS5 ports of the original game. You can already buy it on PC, Xbox One and Switch. The console versions automatically contain the DLCs.
