It’s been weeks since you walked on Gná in God of War Ragnarok. The creepiest corners of Night City and the darkest secrets of Cyberpunk 2077 no longer hold any secrets for you. You are also in your seventh Champions League final won in a row with your team from Rodez AF on FIFA 23. As for your opponents Forza Motorsport 7they only know your car’s rear license plate… So why not clear your head a little and go to the Dordogne?

Developed by French studios Un Je Ne Sais Quoi and Unanimation, Dordogne is a narrative game laced with puzzles in which we follow the tribulations of Mimi, a 32-year-old young woman who must explore the house of her recently deceased grandmother, in search of her childhood memories. To get to the end of the story, the gamer will not only have to walk around the family home with an adult Mimi, but also get lost along the Dordogne and the surrounding countryside as the young Mimi.

Far from the explosions of polygons and the technological prowess of the raytracing, this title adopts a realization inspired by watercolors to further reinforce its poetic aspect. A picture is always worth much more than a long speech, we let you admire the work carried out by the teams to transcribe the atmosphere of the Dordogne countryside, which is reminiscent of the animated works of the Ghibli studio.

Published by Focus Entertainment (to whom we also owe the two opuses of the series A Plague Tale, Innocence and Requiem), Dordogne should be released on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One and Switch during the spring for around twenty euros. You can already follow it on Steam for PC and Mac (yes, there are still some) before ordering it in a few weeks. It should be noted that if the dematerialized versions will be released first, physical collectors’ versions, including a art book and vinyls, should also be available, according to our colleagues from South West.
