After her son runs away from Montpellier to escape his judicial control, Eve is devastated. Will she overcome Eliott’s absence? His interpreter, Emma Colberti, gives several answers.
To escape the blackmail of prosecutor Bernier, who threatened to send him back to prison unless he worked for him, Eliott (Stéphane Monpetit) made the decision to flee in the last episodes of Un Si Grand Soleil.
Pushed to the limit by the prosecutor, isolated from everyone, the young man had narrowly escaped an overdose after sinking into depression. It is therefore without looking back that he left Montpellier, not without having entrusted the management of his bar to his friends, Dylan (Ishtvan Nekrasov) and Charles (Nicolas Lancelin).
A major shock for Eve, his mother, who did not have the opportunity to say goodbye to her son because he announced his departure by telephone, when he was already far from Montpellier. How will the French teacher overcome the loss of the only family she has left? For Emma Colberti, his interpreter, this new break with Eliott could well be final.
“There is no farewell scene and it’s a massacre“, she declares to the site Télé Loisirs.Eve is very touched and saddened by this departure. It really hurts her, because it’s almost the end of a relationship (…) Eve went through so many difficult things with her son that they reached a point of no return.“
But after having tried in vain to convince him to come back and to promise him to fix things, Eve will end up resigning herself. “At the same time, it makes her suffer at the time in a visceral maternal reaction, and at the same time she has taken a step back enough to say to herself ok, this relationship is defusing“, she analyzes.
Especially since the teacher, who decided by mutual agreement with her former companion Virgile (Fred Bianconi) to sell the campsite they were renovating, is no longer alone to face this ordeal, since she is running now the perfect love with Manu (Moïse Santamaria).
“She confides in Manu but doesn’t turn it into a spell either. She doesn’t hide from her pain but she won’t cry every day in [ses] arms, because it’s true that it would overwhelm the beginning of their relationship a little.“
Would Eve finally be ready to accept turning the page with her son to free herself from their toxic relationship? “I admire at Eve his fairly incredible capacity for resilience and his fairly strong survival instinct“, adds the actress.
Although we still don’t know if Stéphane Monpetit will be absent from the series for an indefinite period, we can imagine that Eliott, now on the run, will not return anytime soon, like the character of Julien Bastide who had taken the fled to Uruguay after being accused of murder. His interpreter, Jérémy Banster, wanted to leave the series after three years in this role.
