Alex and Celine give in to temptation
In the morning, Alex receives a call from Davia who comes fishing for information. Alex has an appointment with Céline that evening, the young woman advises him to tell her the truth and then asks him to call her back to get all the details.
For their part, Judge Laplace and Commissioner Becker take stock of the investigation which is unfortunately at a standstill.
Meanwhile, Alex discovers that Raphaël Dormois was homeless and is now living in a shelter in Lunel. However, Raphaël only stayed there for a month because he was arguing with everyone. In addition, the police also discovered that Raphaël was working on a construction site in Palavas. Commissioner Becker therefore asks Manu and Alex to go there the next day.
At the end of the day, Alex goes to Celine’s. After drinking a few cocktails, they share an intimate moment. Once dressed, Alex gathers his courage and reveals to Celine that he is a police officer. When she tries to find out why he lied to her, Alex claims that his job tends to scare people away. Understanding, Celine even asks him to bring his handcuffs the next time they see each other.
A short distance away, Evan takes advantage of his captor bringing him a meal tray to talk to him. Convinced that he has a connection with a deceased patient, the doctor assures him that he did everything possible to save him. The man then replies that he has no interest in his explanations before specifying that he will pay for what he has done. He also adds that he will die in 4 days.
Dimitri reports himself to the police
At Midi Libre, Marc receives a call from a woman whose dog was kidnapped before her eyes. After gathering various information, Marc advises her not to pay the ransom in order to gain time.
Marc then meets Marie-Sophie to inform her that he has a lead. It must be said that the journalist knows Dimitri very well since he was his wife’s former partner. Knowing that he had problems with the law for fraud, the journalist imagines that he could very well have started again to make a little money. Besides, Dimitri lives in the village where one of the dogs was found. In his eyes, this cannot be a coincidence.
To be sure, Marc calls Léonor and tries to find out if she has heard from Dimitri. Although this is not the case, Léonor knows that her former partner has money problems that have not improved since his indictment. Currently, Dimitri cannot even afford a lawyer for his trial.
Convinced that Dimitri is behind these dognappings, Marc arrives at his home. Seeing the dog that accompanies him, Marc confronts him. With his back to the wall, Dimitri confesses. Since his breakup with Sabine, he has not been able to make ends meet. He then had the idea of kidnapping dogs when he started seeing Rebecca by using her clinic files without her knowledge. Since he is risking a lot, Dimitri begs him not to denounce him. However, Marc is stuck. His editor-in-chief being aware of this affair, he has to publish an article the next day. Marc therefore advises him to go to the police.
Back at Midi Libre, Marc tells Marie-Sophie that Dimitri has confessed everything. Since he has to publish an article the next day, the journalist asks his editor to blur Dimitri’s face and not to mention his first name because he doesn’t want to hurt him further. Marie-Sophie agrees.
Meanwhile, Dimitri goes to the police station where he confesses. If he already thought he was pathetic, Becker believes that he has outdone himself and that he has hit rock bottom with this scam.
