JACQUES MADE A SUICIDE ATTEMPT
It is dark when Marc receives a call from an employee of the farm to warn him of his father’s arrest. While Louis tries to understand what is going on, Marc tells him that his grandfather has been placed in police custody after having falsified documents to have a cash facility. For her part, Myriam contacts Claire in the hope of finding Jacques a good lawyer.
At the same time, Jacques recognizes the facts with which he is accused. After reminding him that he is liable to three years in prison and a fine of 45,000 euros for forgery and the use of forgery, Elise asks Jacques if he has spoken to anyone about his intention to falsify the contract. Although he quickly understands that it was Léonor who reported him to the police, he remains silent.
During this time, Marc drops off Louis at the tennis club and meets Léonor to whom he announces that Jacques has been placed in police custody. The latter then reveals to her that Jacques had informed her of his intention to falsify documents to save his company from bankruptcy. As Marc tries to understand why he didn’t tell her anything, Léonor says nastily that she has nothing to do with it if her father no longer trusts her. What’s more, she can’t help but blame it all on Myriam. If she hadn’t filed a complaint, Jacques wouldn’t be here. Angry, the journalist defends his companion and claims that it was Elisabeth who took this initiative.
Not far from there, Jacques was summoned by judge Alphand who indicates that he is free until his trial. Despite everything, Jacques realizes that he has lost his family and his farm. Desperate, he bursts into tears.
At nightfall, Jacques is driving his car and calls his grandson. He then leaves her a voicemail telling her that he hopes he can forgive her. Jacques then undid his seat belt, accelerated and crashed into a wall.
CLAIRE LEARNS THE TRUTH ABOUT VICTOR AND HELENE
It’s Hélène’s last day in internal medicine. She may be happy, but the nurse can’t help feeling a twinge in her heart. As they have breakfast together, Victor wonders if he should tell his daughter the truth about their story, but Hélène doesn’t think it’s a good idea, especially since he risk falling out with Claire because of her. Even if he is aware of the complexity of the situation, Victor prefers to speak quickly to his daughter, certain that the tensions will eventually calm down between them.
Victor therefore arranges to meet Claire at the straw hut. Point blank, he then declares that he continues to see Hélène and that he intends to see her again. Realizing that her father is sleeping with his worst enemy, Claire tries to convince him that she is only manipulating him to get to her. Only, Victor does not believe her and assures that there is something strong going on between them that he does not intend to let pass. So he advises his daughter to move on. In vain.
Back up, Claire goes to the hospital and confronts Hélène. As she is convinced that she has bamboozled her father, Claire says that she will not let her. Hélène, who is tired by these incessant arguments, begs her to turn the page but Claire leaves the place furious.
Subsequently, Hélène finds Victor and tells him that she had an altercation with her daughter. When she asks herself the question of putting an end to their story to avoid confusion, Victor points out to her that they have the right to live their story, no matter what Claire thinks of it. He therefore offers her to move forward day by day, until she accepts the situation.
For her part, Claire confides in Florent. With tears in her eyes, she states that she’s starting to feel like everyone is against her. Exhausted, she even plans to cut ties with her father, but Florent strongly advises her against it. Convinced that their story will not last, he urges his companion to hunker down while waiting.
