The noose tightens around Alix

Laurine and Romain spent the night together in a hotel room. In the early morning, Laurine takes advantage of the fact that the young man is still asleep to go through his things. Indeed, the young woman needs to understand how a caregiver can spend €1000 in one evening. Romain, who sees her doing this, is amused by the situation and remains very mysterious. Enough to arouse Laurine’s curiosity.

For his part, Becker asks Janet if she knows when Hélène will be released from the hospital. Unfortunately, Doctor Lewis has no idea because Hélène is still very fragile. Hearing this, the commissioner replies that he hopes the hospital is not dragging things out to spare him prison.

At the hospital, Jennifer and David see Laurine and Romain kissing. If they wanted to live their story out of sight, it’s a failure.

At the police station, Commissioner Becker and Lieutenant Cross question Alexandre Leblanc who explains that he bought 4 works by Definod from Christian Peyrac for the sum of 3 million euros. Some time later, a controversy broke out in the art world over the origin of these works as some experts questioned their authenticity. To clarify this matter, he called on his own expert who noticed that one of the paintings had been damaged and then repaired. The linen thread that allowed the repair dated from the 1960s, but no one was supposed to have touched this canvas for more than a century. Alexandre Leblanc immediately contacted Christian Peyrac to express his doubts and ask him to reimburse him. If Christian Peyrac gave his agreement in principle, Alexandre Leblanc never heard from him or his partner again.

The police then understand that the crime of passion theory no longer holds. From now on, the scam becomes for them the motive for the murder. This would also explain why Hélène and Christian were armed. Certain that Alix is linked to this affair, the commissioner orders that she be summoned quickly.

At the end of the day, Alix arrives at the police station accompanied by Claudine, her lawyer. As she maintains that the Definod are authentic paintings, Commissioner Becker decides to ask the judge for a new expertise of the paintings…

Evan researches pesticides

In the morning, Élodie calls Ludo to ask him if he can provide equine therapy classes today. After confirming that yes, he wants to know if everything is okay. Élodie then tells him that her father has leukemia. As she is worried about her father, Ludo advises her to contact her doctor to discuss it. And in fact, William has an appointment at the hospital today to start his treatment. Élodie will therefore accompany him. Once he expresses his support, Ludo wishes him good luck.

At the hospital, Doctor Cresson explains to William that he has a good chance of surviving. He therefore encourages her to fight but also to make an appointment with the hospital psychologist. Indeed, morale counts a lot in the fight against cancer. While he refuses, Evan also advises him to see a cardiologist before starting treatment. It must be said that chemotherapy is very taxing on the body and doctors must ensure that it can withstand it. His treatment being difficult to reconcile with his agricultural work, William will have to stop working.

Later, Evan tells Elodie that her father is going to need her. Without hesitation, the latter assures him that she will be there for him. Since they have always been careful about the products they used, Elodie is worried about the reasons for her father’s illness.

In the afternoon, Ludo sees William on his farm. He then takes the opportunity to tell her how sorry he is for her cancer and encourages her to fight. When he offers to help him with the restrictive tasks, William sends him away.

Meanwhile, Evan researches Fertilizer Plus, a brand used by area farmers. He then wonders if exposure to pesticides from this brand could be the cause of the cancers recently recorded among farmers…
