Thursday February 22, 2024 in Un si grand soleil…

Romain flees

Hélène recovered her memory. Understanding that the man who is injecting her with a deadly product into the IV is the one who murdered Christian Peyrac, she begins to scream and tries to stop him. In vain. When Romain places his hand in front of her mouth, Hélène nevertheless manages to tear the catheter from her IV and bites him violently.

Alerted by screams, Thierry arrives in the room and discovers Romain trying to suffocate Hélène with a pillow. The police officer then threatens him with his weapon and then orders him not to move. However, Romain managed to disarm him and escape. Thierry runs after him but unfortunately loses track of him.

At the same time, Laurine arrives in Hélène’s room who tells her that she recognized the one who shot her. The young woman tries to calm her down and assures her that she is now safe.

A few moments later, Thierry returns to Hélène’s room to question her. The latter therefore explains that it was not she who killed Christian Peyrac but Romain. She then tells him everything that happened. A discussion which did not escape Laurine who cannot believe that the man she loves could have done such a thing. When the police officer asked her if she knew the caregiver well, the young woman replied that they were going out together before providing him with the address of the hotel where he was staying.

Meanwhile, Élise and Yann arrive at the hotel but Romain has already fled. They therefore launched a search notice.

The next day, Laurine is questioned by Lieutenant Cross. The latter explains that Romain managed to convince her to let him enter Hélène’s room because he made her believe that he was an undercover journalist who was writing an article on the Peyrac affair. Faced with the police officer’s questions, she assures that she does not know where he is. If that had been the case, she swears she would have told him.

At the hospital, Claire and Hélène are at Hélène’s bedside. After telling him how sorry she was for what happened to him, Janet informs him that security has been increased outside his room. Hélène then thanks her former colleagues for watching over her. She then confides to them her relief at finally knowing the truth about Christian’s death. It must be said that Hélène ended up believing that it was she who had killed him. In turn, Janet assures her that she is not a murderer.

Not far from there, Laurine finds Boris at the beach. In fact, the young woman is terribly angry at having been led around like this and sees herself as a poor girl who has been tricked. Boris tries to comfort her but Laurine breaks down in her brother’s arms.

At the end of the day, Yann, Cécile and Becker take stock of the Peyrac affair. As there is no longer any doubt about the identity of the murderer, Judge Alphand decides to lift Hélène’s indictment. She then puts pressure on the police to find Romain as quickly as possible.

William’s complaint is dismissed

In the morning, prosecutor Bernier and Michel Picard, his deputy, take stock of the current cases. After discussing the investigation into the murder of Christian Peyrac, the two men discuss William’s complaint against Fertilizer Plus. To the extent that he judges that the case is too light, the prosecutor decides to close the case without further action.

Warned by Commissioner Becker, Claudine calls prosecutor Bernier. And suffice to say that the lawyer is furious that the complaint was closed without action. Although he understands his dissatisfaction, the prosecutor reminds him that it is he who decides whether a complaint merits the opening of an investigation. In this case, William’s complaint does not merit mobilizing the police. Claudine insists no matter how much, Bernier sticks to his positions. According to him, the dozens of complaints he has on his desk deserve an urgent investigation. Annoyed, Claudine promises that her client won’t stop there before hanging up.

At the farm, William tells Ludo and Élodie the bad news. However, the latter do not intend to give up and intend to continue fighting.

Not far from there, Patrice Bienvenu, the CEO of Engrais Plus, and prosecutor Bernier are having lunch at Les Sauvages. Even if the case has officially been closed, this does not mean that environmentalists will stop protesting. But Mr. Bienvenu is nevertheless relieved because he believes he has nothing to reproach himself for.

For his part, Marc wants to do interviews with all parties for regular publications. The chemist, the ecologists, Doctor Cresson and Patrice Bienvenu. The editor-in-chief of Midi Libre gives him the green light.

In the evening, Élodie has dinner with her roommate. Happy to see her again, the young woman suggests that Élise get back into horse riding. The two women therefore arrange to meet the next day at the farm.
