CHRISTOPHE IS IN FULL QUESTIONING
Christophe has a nightmare in which he sees all the murders he has committed.
In the morning, he gets ready in the bathroom and cuts himself while shaving. He then looks in the mirror and then starts talking to himself. “You really are sick. Do you think that by just stopping killing bastards you’ll end up curing yourself?“.
When he arrives at the office, Christophe takes care of Naya, Father Sylvio’s cat. Although she is much better, Charles wonders if she might have been poisoned. After going to Father Sylvio’s church, Christophe searches the presbytery and finds the cause of Naya’s epilepsies. This is a product used to clean the floor of the church. Father Sylvio, who has arrived in the meantime, makes him understand that he could have simply called him to warn him before thanking him.
Thereafter, Father Sylvio and Christophe sit down in the church. When the priest tries to find out if he is a believer, Christophe replies that he finds it difficult to conceive that if God exists, he can allow men to commit such atrocities. In response, Father Sylvio replies that it is the great mystery of faith. According to him, to believe is not to swallow a block of certainty. It is a path. And it is by taking a few steps on this path that Christophe will be able to soothe his anger. Indeed, Father Sylvio noticed that the veterinarian was tormented. He also says he is ready to confess it so that he feels more at peace. However, Christophe declines, stating that it will not be necessary.
Meanwhile, Margot and Cécile are spending time at the pool. The opportunity for the judge’s little sister to confide in her love affair with Ludo. Very in love with him, she regrets that he spends whole days with his ex-girlfriend.
At nightfall, Christophe deletes from his computer the file of a certain Pedro Morel, the man he had followed a few days earlier.
MARC DECIDED TO INVESTIGATE THE EXPULSION OF CARINE AND MAEVA
At the Estrella-Graçay, Maeva reads an article which explains that Vincent was a notorious offender sentenced to a suspended prison sentence and cited in several drug trafficking cases. The article also states that Vincent died because he wanted to escape the police. For her part, Carine knows that her cousin was arrested for a cannabis affair twenty years earlier, but at that time he was not even of age. He was then called as witnesses in cases without ever skidding again.
Without waiting, Florent calls Superintendent Becker. And as much to say that the lawyer suspects a police officer in charge of the investigation of being the anonymous source of this article. Becker then assures that he will conduct his investigation. If it is someone from his home who leaked this information, there will be sanctions.
At the same time, Marc informs Louis that he is going to write an article on Vincent’s death because he wants to give the family of the deceased a right of reply.
At the police station, Becker gathers his teams. Indeed, the elements quoted in the article come from their minutes. He therefore instructed the IT department to check whether any of them had consulted Vincent’s file. Before concluding, he declares that if they have anything to say, his office is open.
Not far from there, Carine and Maeva collect the keys to their new apartment and then give an interview to Marc Mourre.
Thierry is summoned to Judge Laplace’s office. According to research conducted by the IT department, it was he who consulted Vincent’s file 24 hours before the publication of the article. Thierry therefore confirms that he actually inquired about the victim as part of his investigation. When the judge tries to find out if he was the one who erased Yasmine’s video, the policeman also confirms this but specifies, however, that he did this only to prevent the police from being attacked. Faced with the judge’s insinuations, Thierry then swears that he has nothing to do with Vincent’s death.
For his part, Marc Mourre questions Florent about the people who expelled Carine and her daughter. The lawyer explains that it is an SCI owned by several companies with many shareholders and complex equity investments. In other words, it is a fairly common tax optimization arrangement in real estate. While Marc tries to find out if there is something illegal in there, Florent replies that he does not see any link with the slippage of the operation. As the opposing party is trying to make the victim look like an offender, Marc would like to dig this track to see if the owners are. Indeed, the journalist is certain that the SCI will make a huge capital gain on Carine’s apartment.
