Un Si Grand Soleil: what future for Hugo and Sabine? The secrets of Bibi Tanga and Gaëla Le Dévéhat

Is a future possible between Hugo and Sabine in Un si grand soleil? Bibi Tanga and Gaëla Le Dévéhat, their interpreters, spoke to Allociné about the rest of this story.

Could there be love in the air in Un si grand soleil?

For a few weeks, Hugo has fallen for Sabine. If the latter struggles to get over her breakup with Dimitri, the math teacher will nevertheless decide to have fun and bring a little lightness into her life.

It is after having a drink that Hugo and Sabine will spend a night together. But love stories are often complicated in the daily France 2 soap opera. Between misunderstandings and misunderstandings, nothing will go as planned. However, is all lost for the math teacher and the forensic doctor?

Met last September at the La Rochelle Fiction Festival, Bibi Tanga and Gaëla Le Dévéhat, the interpreters of Hugo and Sabine, spoke to Allociné about the beginnings of this love story.

Allociné: If there is a rapprochement that we did not see coming in Un si grand soleil, it is that of Sabine and Hugo. What can you tell us about this story that is currently being written?

Gaëla Le Dévéhat : We were pleasantly surprised when reading the script. I had met Bibi very little before this arch. I really liked the character of Hugo but I wouldn’t have thought of it. I was very excited to play with him.

Bibi Tanga : It is the same for me. Since we’ve been playing together, it’s obvious. So sometimes the outside perspective is important.

Sabine is coming out of a major disappointment in love. Will she still let herself go in this new story or will she be reserved?

Gaëla Le Dévéhat : There is a real attraction between the two because there is a kind of obviousness. Afterwards, it’s quite funny because it’s in the tone of a romantic comedy. Suddenly, there is a misunderstanding, which is actually very funny to play. Sabine is coming out of a complicated story, she wants to have fun and lightness but at the same time, she feels that there is something more intense that grabs her. She’s happy but she’s also a little wary because she had a huge beating with Dimitri. However, I think that she is cautious but that there is a much stronger attraction than that behind it.

Hugo is a seducer, is this story serious for him?

Bibi Tanga : Hugo will discover love with Sabine. This is new to him.

Since her disappointment in love, Sabine has lost all confidence in men. I imagine that could be a hindrance to their story?

Gaëla Le Dévéhat : She is perfectly aware of that! She says it herself that it’s just a one-night stand. She’s going to be careful and walk on eggshells.

Bibi Tanga : There will be moments of incomprehension between Hugo and Sabine and some misunderstandings. Hugo will have to work a lot to get Sabine to trust him.

Gaëla Le Dévéhat : Everything is obviously linked to what she experienced with Dimitri. Sabine blames herself for not having seen anything. It’s a mixture of many things. She is vigilant but especially in relation to herself. She holds back a little but Hugo will succeed in picking her up.

Yann and Johanna are Hugo and Sabine’s best friends. What roles will they play in this story?

Bibi Tanga : They will be kind!

Gaëla Le Dévéhat : They will be attentive to what is happening around them. Maybe a little too much even (laughs).

Apart from this love story, Sabine encounters some tensions with her father whom she blames for having hidden the truth about Dimitri from her. Will she be able to forgive him for his betrayal or will the road to forgiveness be long?

Gaëla Le Dévéhat : This lie was the straw that broke the camel’s back, especially in relation to Claudine. Sabine’s world was shattered. I think this story will deconstruct it to better reconstruct it. She arrives at a form of emancipation in which she will take charge of herself a little more, more particularly towards her father. I think he’s going to need a little time. This lie is the most painful for her. Much more than Eve’s or her mother’s. This is perhaps the lie that hurts her the most and that she will have the most difficulty swallowing. But they will meet again. I won’t say in what circumstances but I’m not worried about it.

Hugo is still on the trail of the Florist and has even embarked on training in criminology. Will he start to suspect Christophe?

Bibi Tanga : There will be sport (laughs). Out of everything we’ve already shot, it’s really not bad. There will be suspense. It’s going to last for a while yet. What’s interesting is that it’s really the friend who doesn’t see his friend. He understands that he is describing someone who could actually be his friend but he does not see it. Even in his discussions with Cécile, he does not yet see that the Florist and Christophe are one and the same person.

I imagine that there is still a little personal satisfaction for Hugo that the police have finally understood that a serial killer is rampant in Montpellier?

Bibi Tanga : It’s a relief for him because he will really be taken seriously, whether by the judge, Yann, Manu or Commissioner Becker. Everyone begins to adhere to his theory. It’s really a great satisfaction for him.
