Is it time for confession in Un si grand soleil?

While the Montpellier police are investigating the terrible tragedy that occurred during the expulsion of Maéva (Marie Fèvre) and Carine (Alika Del Sol), Christophe (Hubert Benhamdine) had a meeting that shook all its certainties in the successful daily soap opera of France 2.

If until now he was convinced that he was doing a service to society by killing criminals who managed to escape justice, his meeting with Father Sylvio (Marcel Gonzalez) will push him to question his actions but especially to seek a form of redemption.

By dint of getting closer to the priest, will the most famous serial murderer of Un si grand soleil end up confessing his crimes?

WHO IS FATHER SYLVIO?

A humanitarian doctor for many years, Father Sylvio found faith after a terrible tragedy. At the end of a vaccination campaign in Sudan, he returned to a clinic he had set up in a village in Darfur.

Unfortunately, all its inhabitants had been massacred. A local militia, known for spreading terror, had indeed passed by a few hours earlier.

His first instinct? Become a bloodthirsty murderer in order to exterminate the culprits of this mass grave. However, he ultimately did not take action. Hearing a voice, he understood that another choice was possible, that of love and peace in hearts.

That day, everything changed for him and so Father Sylvio decided to focus on this new mission to save all souls, without distinction.

Visibly troubled by this story, Christophe thought a lot, even to the point of giving up killing the man he had been following for a few days.

But now, despite all his good intentions, the veterinarian does not take long to see his murderous impulses reappear. If he thought he saw the grout on his son’s birthday cake turn into a pool of blood, he also had many nightmares about his murders and even started talking to himself.

Tormented, will Christophe seek absolution by confessing his sins or will he, on the contrary, believe himself to be invested with a divine mission to dispense justice?

WILL CHRISTOPHE CONFESS HIS CRIMES?

In an extract available on the France.tv platform, Christophe meets Father Sylvio at the church. When the priest points out to him that he is a generous man, a rare quality in this world, Christophe retorts that he is completely wrong.

I am not a good person. it’s quite the opposite“, he then launches. And to continue: “I’m a pretty disreputable person.“.

When Father Sylvio prays for his soul, Christophe recalls a discussion he seems to have had a few hours earlier with Hugo (Bibi Tanga).

Even if it’s justified in his own eyes by only attacking bastards, he’s still a pervert who needs to satisfy his urges. This kind of profile, once they’ve tasted blood, they can’t stop. It’s impossible. You will see, it will not take long to find a target and kill itDisturbed, Christophe hastily left the church.

The next day, Christophe returns. Father Sylvio then pushes him to speak with confidence, stating that no one will betray him.

Once you know, I’m not so sure“, he answers before adding: “Either way, I’ve made my decision.“.

However, Christophe will not have time to confess his crimes to the priest. Indeed, at the same moment, Father Sylvio begins to feel bad and faint. In the Samu truck that takes him to the hospital, the doctors try to resuscitate him but without success…

Will Christophe see there a divine sign to shut up and continue his murders? It’s a safe bet that the future will be bloody in Un si grand soleil!
