Unboxing leak confirms suspicion: Galaxy A53 without accessories?

Samsung will be presenting the new mid-range smartphones in just a few days. On March 17th we will receive technical details about the new A series and above all the Samsung Galaxy A53 is one of the most anticipated cell phones of the first half of the year. A new unboxing video shows in advance what to expect – including the missing power supply.

  • Unboxing video shows the new Samsung Galaxy A53.
  • No additional accessories included.
  • Samsung is pursuing a “Galaxy-for-the-planet” agenda.

A week ago, a rumor heated the minds of Samsung fans. The manufacturer does not plan to include the A and M series power supplies in the scope of delivery. The unboxing video by Vietnamese Youtuber Đức Khánh now confirms this rumor. All you can see is the packaging and the smartphone it contains. No charger, no protective case. Only the USB-C cable is included.

So if you don’t have a power adapter at home, you’ll have to get a new one, for better or for worse. You will also look in vain for a screen protector. The video only refers to the Samsung Galaxy A53, but this decision should apply to the entire A series. Samsung already omits the chargers from its Galaxy S22 series and this strategy can probably be carried over to the entire lineup of the year.

Saving or the environment? What is the reason?

Samsung cites its own environmental agenda as the reason for its austerity measures. The company would like to increasingly do without plastic in the future and assumes that most buyers already have a charger. Even if it sounds noble, behind this pretense could only be greenwashing.

But it is also clear that the missing accessories save the company a lot of money. Especially people who have never owned a smartphone before have to buy the power adapter before they can get started. So it doesn’t stay with the low price and you have to spend even more money if you want to use your new Galaxy A53 to its full extent.

What do you think of the austerity measures? Do you think Samsung should integrate the power supplies? Let us know in the comments!
