L’unboxing of the Meta Quest 3, the next helmet XR of Metawas posted anonymously on the social network Reddit. It seems to have become a habit since, remember, the Meta Quest Pro had also been leaked under the same conditions shortly before its launch.
The packaging of the Meta Quest 3 resembles, in terms of the material used, that of the Meta Quest 2. Surprisingly, the box, in addition to being small, is no longer rectangular (unlike the old helmets Meta) but square. Yes, the use of contact lenses pancakes and the removal of the rings from the new controllers (Touch Plus) make the whole thing much more compact.
We see, for a very short moment, a small box, probably containing two batteries, a power outlet, a USB-C cable and a booklet. Note that the use of batteries means that the charging dock will be sold separately. A priori, the controllers will have a much longer useful life than that of the Meta Quest 2which was already at the top of the top of autonomy (> 50 hours).

This setting is not insignificant, as it will allow glasses wearers to be able to use the Meta Quest 3 without having to pay and clip glasses to their sight (which we recommend anyway, question of comfort and width of the field of vision). This adjustment was also leaked last February:
Apart from these few details, we find strictly speaking what had already been leaked before, which is reassuring. On the other hand, it is the cold shower concerning the strap which seems to be so impractical and cheap than that of Meta Quest 2, especially for adults. Conversely, this strap is more suitable for smaller heads (so don’t throw it away if you find better elsewhere).
We don’t know the release date of Meta Quest 3, but we already know its price: €569.99 (a priori, for the 128 GB version). Patience, you will have to wait Meta Connect September 27 to find out when we can get our hands on it. You will be able to follow the event with us, so stay tuned.
