Uncharted 4: Nolan North talks about the departure of Amy Hennig in development

Before embarking on the journey through the game in live with his hosts, Nolan North therefore added some context on the production of Uncharted 4 and this major turning point that was the breakup with Hennig in 2014, resulting in the creation of a new version of the game ultimately. The actor thus explained how this had upset his part of the work: “We started shooting Uncharted 4 with Amy Hennig for seven months. We were well into the game. Then she got kicked out by Naughty Dog, and they got rid of everything we did.“.

They redistributed the roles. The original cast included Graham McTavish – Cutter in Uncharted 3 – he had a huge role in Amy’s Uncharted 4. Todd Stashwick played Sam and Alan Tudyk portrayed Rafe. But they ended up changing everything, Troy came in to play Sam and they added the character of Nadine for Laura Bailey. So of course, financially, it was cool. And that’s the business, those are things that happen all the time in movies, on television. In the end, I was just glad they didn’t cancel the whole thing“added North, visibly scarred by these drastic changes.

After leaving for Visceral Games and experiencing another failure on a canceled Star Wars game, Amy Hennig and her new studio, Skydance New Media, are finally officially at work on the license created by George Lucas.
