Under police interrogation – Murder suspect: “I never planned to kill her”

Christian L. (41) is in prison on suspicion of murder. On Saturday evening he made a de facto confession: “I just wanted her to be quiet.” He stabbed his estranged wife three times.

They were together for ten years, got married five years ago, raised two children (6 and 12) and ran several restaurants together in Piesendorf. Now Sabrina L. (30) is dead and Christian L. (41) in prison in Puch. As “Krone” readers know, the German-born Austrian volunteered after a day on the run. During the interrogation on Saturday, he commented on the fact: “I was in a bloodlust. I just wanted her to be calm and that it was all over.” The 41-year-old could not give any details – he spoke of a “blackout” and a “state of emergency”. But he also said: “I never planned to kill Sabrina.” The situation had escalated, everything had happened spontaneously. A dispute in the kitchen of the inn led to a bloody act On Friday morning he had his estranged wife in the inn called. It was about the separation and the planned takeover of the catering business: Christian L. should have continued to run the inn, while Sabrina L. wanted to run the pool buffet and the lift parlor alone. Around noon there was a meeting and a momentous argument. He is said to have stabbed his victim three times in the kitchen with a kitchen knife and choked her. “I am responsible for the death of Sabrina. I alone, and I’m sorry,” he told the officials. Defense attorney Franz Essl locates manslaughter and not murder. The lawyer argues with a “generally understandable emotion” as the trigger for the crime. Victims reported to the 41-year-old: There was a ban on contact. But the fact is: there were already signs of violence in advance. Sabrina L. had already reported her husband in the spring – for serious bodily harm, persistent persecution and dangerous threats. According to “Krone” information, he threatened her with death in an SMS. In April, the authorities imposed an entry and approach ban. So he shouldn’t have seen her at all. The couple, who are living separately, are said to have met again – probably also because of the planned divorce and the future of the catering establishments. The regional court is expected to impose pre-trial detention on the murder suspect today.
