Under the sun: “de la m****”, Adeline Blondieau marked by her passage in the soap opera

For more than ten years, viewers have followed the adventures of Adeline Blondieau. In Under the Sun, the actress played the role of Caroline Drancourt between 1996 and 2008. In 2013, she resumed filming for the sequel to the cult series, which was quickly stopped for lack of an audience. More than ten years after the end of Sous le soleil, Adeline Blondieau has a mixed feeling about her time on television. If she rather liked the experience, she suffered from the gaze of others, as she confided on Instagram during a live performance with Sophie Favier. “I couldn’t embody my profession by saying to myself: ‘yes, I’m doing something good, I’m doing a series that is a hit and that’s good’, she remembered. Because they explained to me that it was shit, that it was still only TV and that we had to come back down.

“I was told that I would never make a film, which is true by the way. But there was a real divide. When we arrived and we laughed, I had the impression that the divide was exploded with bursts of laughter, that we were so much better off laughing at our table – where the American stars wanted to be…”, added Adeline Blondieau. Now a sophrologist, she does not regret her past as an actress. Even if the reasons that led him to leave Sous le soleil was serious. “Filming is very difficult on a human level. It’s a life where we don’t leave much room for intimacy. We take a lot of things from you: your time, your health and nobody cares”she said on the set of Ca begins today. Adeline Blondieau also had a lot of trouble embodying her character whose adventures no longer enchanted her.

“The production had taken it into their heads to give me a role that spent its time suffering, being abused. I asked them to change that because I was beaten up, insulted, cuckolded… At some point it became too heavy, she confided again. Even the team was weighed down. You can’t laugh before and after a scene where you get beaten up. It was still awful awful.” By dint of working “without pleasure” and “gratification”, the actress gradually fell into depression. “I said to myself that my son did not deserve to have a mother in this state. I was a vegetable, I no longer spoke, I no longer walked”, she added. Now very far from the world of comedy, Adeline Blondieau is very fulfilled. And prefers to remember the good things that television has brought him.
