About ten years ago, THQ and Yuke’s regularly released licensed boxing games UFC Undisputed, a franchise now gone. But Steel City Interactive will take up the torch with Undisputeda new fighting game that will arrive at the very end of the month in early access.
The independent studio announces that Undisputed’s release date is set for January 31, 2023 on PC, via Steamin Early Access. The content will obviously expand over the months with updates, but from the launch in a few days, there will be plenty to do, as the presentation of the game specifies:
Undisputed offers the most authentic boxing experience available. It combines stunning visuals with a revolutionary footwork system and a deep strategic dimension. With over 60 different moves, voiceovers by boxing commentators and legends, Undisputed is set to become the king of the ring!
For its entry into early access, the game will offer a roster of more than 50 playable characters including Tyson Fury, Canelo Alvarez, Deontay Wilder or Katie Taylor, as well as a women’s division, all across 6 unique locations, including a large Coldwell arena and sports hall. Players will also be able to enjoy Undisputed in offline battles against their friends or the AI, but also compete against other players online in order to climb to the top of the general ranking.
To ensure the authenticity of Undisputed, the developers of Steel City Interactive partner with the biggest boxing federations and brands, such as World Boxing Council, British Boxing Board of Control, Empire and many more .
- Footwork-based gameplay mechanics, including a free-move modifier, making it easy to move around the ring.
- More than 60 individual shots, through different angles and in different directions. Feigning an attack is essential in order to trap your opponent and counter-attack.
- All the tools needed to be a pro defense are present, such as sliding punches, dodging and blocking.
