Unfortunately rare these days: Aldi’s Windows 11 laptop offers a long-forgotten option

Classic desktop PCs are increasingly being replaced by notebooks these days. Sure, after all they are much more compact, do not require an external monitor and can also be used on the go. However, classic computers can be upgraded much better, which is hardly possible with modern laptops – with one exception. Aldi currently has such a model with Windows 11 as the “highlight of the week”.

The notebook has a 15.6-inch screen with Full HD resolution (1,920 x 1,080 pixels). Due to its size, you also get a full-fledged keyboard including a number pad. This means that the device is still mobile (1.6 kilograms), but it also works well as a desktop replacement.

The processor used is an AMD Ryzen 3 7320U with four cores, and an NVMe SSD with 256 gigabytes of storage space is also used. The RAM of 8 gigabytes is sufficient for simple tasks.

However, there is another practical option that hardly any notebook offers anymore: The laptop has two RAM slots and only one of them is occupied. So you have the option of expanding the RAM with a second RAM module and thus ensuring more performance.

Lots of connections, modern radio technology

The integrated AMD Radeon Graphics graphics card is not suitable for playing the latest AAA games, but you can of course play simple or older games on the device. The laptop also offers two speakers in a stereo system and a microphone is integrated – in conjunction with the webcam (0.9 megapixels), the notebook can also be used for video chats.

In terms of connectivity, WLAN 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 are on board. On the connection side there are three USB sockets, an HDMI interface as well as a LAN input and a headphone output.

For a price of under 400 euros, you get a solid laptop with decent features. This is appropriate for the price, but of course does not make the device a performance miracle in this class. However, it is sufficient for simple tasks such as office, emails, surfing and streaming. In addition, the RAM upgrade option is not uninteresting.

The HP laptop currently only costs 389 euros at Aldi. A good price for the equipment, and also the cheapest offer in a price comparison – even if other dealers don’t charge much more.
