Jean-Christophe Cambadélis was the guest of Europe 1 this Wednesday morning. At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk, the former first secretary of the Socialist Party once again opposed an agreement between the PS and LFI for the legislative elections. As negotiations continue between the two parties, Jean-Christophe Cambadélis calls on the Socialists to “resist”.

He is one of the tenors of the Socialist Party. Jean-Christophe Cambadélis, like François Hollande, is one of those who strongly oppose an agreement between the PS and LFI for the legislative elections. At the microphone of Sonia Mabrouk this Wednesday morning on Europe 1, the former first secretary of the PS felt that we could not “go to the ultra left when the country goes to the right”. He also called on the socialists to resist to postpone the agreement, while the negotiations between the PS and LFI continue.

Cambadélis wants “a break line” with LFI

“I call on the socialists to resist, to fight, to ensure that this agreement is rejected. And afterwards, on the contrary, I will say to the socialists ‘make sure that there is a line of rupture with this integration in the melenchonie during of the next congress”, he says on Europe 1.

This agreement is a “surrender”

Jean-Christophe Cambadélis says he is in favor of the autonomy of the PS and “a renewed government culture” and “an ability to lead the whole of the left towards a position which makes it possible to have a majority in the elections”. “We cannot go to the ultra left when the country goes to the right”, argues the former secretary of the PS.

According to him, the great voices of the PS as well as the local communities led by the Socialists, are unfavorable to this agreement which does not allow the PS to exist as such”. “It is a surrender”, denounces t- he. Jean-Christophe Cambadélis explains that he does not want this agreement also because of fundamental questions. “We believe that Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s program is infeasible in the face of rising prices, insecurity and precariousness dominant”.

For the moment, La France insoumise and the Socialist Party have found an “agreement in principle” on the constituencies. A global agreement would be “on track” for the legislative elections, announced the management of the PS on Wednesday morning.
