Prince William traveled to the United Arab Emirates overnight to express his condolences over the death of the President.

In the name and on behalf of the Queen (96), Prince William (39) left for the United Arab Emirates at short notice. On Monday (May 16) the Royal met the new President Muhammad bin Zayid Al Nahyan (61) there to express his condolences. His half-brother and previous president, Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, died on May 13 after years of serious illness.

According to a report by the British “Mirror”. William left for the United Arab Emirates overnight. Accordingly, it was the first time that the 39-year-old was sent to another country to offer condolences on behalf of the British crown. This is another indication that Queen Elizabeth II’s grandson is increasingly being entrusted with important tasks. Previously, he was present at the opening of the British Parliament by his father Prince Charles (73).

Condolences from all over the world

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson (57) had already flown to the United Arab Emirates on Sunday to express his condolences. Just like Israel’s President Yitzchak Herzog (61), who arrived in Abu Dhabi at the weekend.

It was Prince William’s second visit this year. It was only on February 9, 2022 that he set foot in the United Arab Emirates for the first time in his life. At that time he visited, among other things, the Expo 2020. He wrote about an Instagram picture at the time: “I look forward to arriving in Dubai to celebrate the UK at Expo 2020 and discuss the important issue of working together with the UAE and international partners.”
