United Kingdom: 0.2% drop in GDP in the 3rd quarter


(CercleFinance.com) – UK GDP is expected to have contracted by 0.2% in the third quarter of 2022, according to the first estimate of the national statistics office, with a fall of 0.6% on the only month of September because of the funeral of Elizabeth II.

The ONS says services production stagnated in the quarter, due to a decline in consumer services, while industrial production fell 1.5% and construction rose 0.6%. %.

“Compared to the same quarter of the previous year, the implicit deflator of GDP increased by 5.8%, mainly due to higher cost pressures faced by households,” he notes.
