United Kingdom: a necrophiliac murderer sentenced again for post-mortem sexual assault

Already sentenced to life in prison for two murders and post-mortem sexual assaults on dozens of women, a British 60-year-old was sentenced again on Wednesday for similar acts, the culmination of an “unprecedented” case in the United Kingdom . David Fuller, now 68, was sentenced to four years in prison for sexually assaulting 23 dead women in the morgues of two hospitals in southern England where he worked as an electrician.

At least 101 corpses of women and girls assaulted

Last month he pleaded guilty to 12 counts of sexual penetration of a corpse and four counts of possession of extreme pornography between 2007 and 2020, these facts corresponding to a total of 23 victims, some of whom have not been identified. In December 2021, he had already been convicted for similar acts on dozens of other post-mortem women, as well as for the murder of two women in 1987 in Tunbridge Wells (south-west of England).

In total, David Fuller thus sexually assaulted the corpses “of at least 101 women and girls, even if ten of the victims could not be identified and probably never will be”, declared the prosecutor during this final hearing. . The youngest of his victims was nine years old, the oldest 100 years old.

Millions of pornographic images in his home

It was in 2020, when investigators arrested him after his DNA was linked to the murder of two young women in 1987, that they discovered millions of pornographic images in his home as well as video footage in which he s was filmed committing sexual assaults on the corpses of women.

When the facts were revealed, the prosecution stressed that it was a case “unprecedented in British judicial history”. This case shocked the United Kingdom and the government launched an independent investigation to analyze how David Fuller could have committed such acts for such a long period without anyone realizing anything. Its findings are expected next year.
