United States: American morale plummets

(Boursier.com) — The preliminary index of US consumer sentiment for the month of February 2022, measured by the University of Michigan, collapsed to 61.7, against 67.5 market consensus and 67, 2 a month before. The sub-index for current conditions came in at 68.5 versus the consensus 72. The expectations component came out at 57.4 against 64.5 market consensus! The one-year inflation estimate comes in at 5%, as expected. Note that the American index of consumer sentiment from the University of Michigan is therefore displayed lowest since October 2011 !
