(Boursier.com) — Retail sales in the United States for the month of February 2022 slowed much more than expected. They show a slight increase of 0.3% compared to the previous month, against 0.4% market consensus and 4.9% increase in January. Excluding automobiles, retail sales grew even more timidly by 0.2% in February, compared to the previous month, against 0.9% consensus and 4.4% a month before. Finally, excluding cars and gasoline, US consumption fell by 0.4% compared to the previous month, against +0.6% consensus and +5.2% in January.
