(Boursier.com) — The US inflation figures for August, published on Tuesday, are hardly reassuring. Thus, the US consumer price index for August 2022 rose by 0.1% compared to the previous month and by 8.3% year-on-year, against respective consensuses of -0.1% and +8.1%. Excluding food and energy, the finding is even quite alarming, insofar as the consumer price index rose by 0.6% compared to the previous month, twice as fast as expected. The CPI excluding food and energy increased by 6.3% compared to the previous year, against 6.1% of market consensus and 5.9% a month before.
