United States: the Empire State index completely collapses

(Boursier.com) — The New York Fed’s Empire State Manufacturing Index for January 2023 literally crashed to -32.9, the lowest since May 2020, against a FactSet consensus of -7 and a reading of -11.2 a month ago. The index is therefore sinking into negative territory, signaling a deeper contraction in activity.
