Unterhaus-Panoptikum – Discovered the disgusting side of the coaching business

Alex Pilaj was dismissed as a coach in Oberndorf three weeks ago. Now he jumped in at Taxham and scored.

Alexander Pilaj has had turbulent weeks behind him. On October 1st, the 30-year-old was still sitting in the coaching bench near Oberndorf in the 2nd regional league north. Two days ago he was in 2nd grade for Taxham. Not as a coach, but as a player. “My best friend Rudolf Glavan asked me if I could help out,” says Alex, who even scored a goal in the 6-1 win against Hallwang’s 1b.

Pilaj only tore his cruciate ligament last March and then declared his playing career to be over. “The last game will be a one-time thing, it was way too risky anyway.” He’d rather concentrate on his career as a coach. In Oberndorf, however, the 30-year-old had to experience how disgusting the coaching business can be. “I’m young and committed, I wanted to do the whole thing professionally.

But that was too much for the board of directors. They said that it didn’t fit in human terms and threw me out, ”said Pilaj, disappointed with the approach.

The young coach hopes that another job will open up quickly, but worries that his reputation has been damaged a little. “If you get kicked out after four months, it’s not a good sign. I hope I get another chance. “
