Because of the great demand, Bachem wants to expand. A new factory will soon be built in Eiken, Aargau.

Hundreds of new jobs are at stake in the expansion that Bachem announced. The company, based in Bubendorf, in the canton of Basel-Landschaft, is buying land on the northern edge of the canton of Aargau.

Bachem wants to expand.

key stone

Bachem wants to build a production facility there. Cost: CHF 750 million by 2030. For a total of 500 new jobs. But the construction project could still be expanded, so that up to 3,000 new jobs could ultimately be created, as the company reports.

Medicines for diabetes and cancer

The expansion of the headquarters in Bubendorf is already in progress. 550 million francs will be invested there and around 800 new jobs will be created over the next three years.

Peptides and oligonucleotides are to be produced at both locations – these are active ingredients for drugs, for example against diabetes or cancer.

Bachem supplies the active ingredients to its customers in the pharmaceutical industry. Because these ingredients are in such high demand, the previous factories are no longer sufficient. Because major new orders are already on the table, as Bachem announced about two weeks ago.
