Tinker Christmas tree decorations from old lightbulbs
If you still have old lightbulbs at home or a discarded LED lamp, you can repurpose them as Christmas tree decorations: spray varnish, spread stars and glitter on them and attach a suspension made of yarn with hot glue. So our little tree shines even more beautifully this year!
Note: Energy-saving lamps are not really suitable for this upcycling idea. Should something break, energy-saving lamps contain toxic mercury, which is dangerous.
Upcycling idea for Christmas made of denim
The holey jeans are obsolete? No reason to throw them away completely! Use the denim for a small Christmas craft project that your loved ones will enjoy: The denim can be clamped in small embroidery frames and serves as a pretty background for Christmas motifs made of wood. A gift ribbon and a small Christmas tree ball make the pendant perfect.

We love mulled wine or hot punch, especially at Christmas time. If you have enough corks left over from the bottles, you can upcycle them for a small decoration idea: On a tree slice, corks can be piled up to form a fir tree with hot glue. Decorated with a few green twigs and red glittering stars, you get the perfect Christmas decoration!
Make stars out of toilet paper rolls
Upcycling at its best: toilet paper rolls can be upgraded with gold lacquer. Then press in the roll so that peaks form on two sides. Cut the toilet paper roll into strips and put them together with craft glue to form star formations. Tied to a string, you can make beautiful Christmas pendants in no time at all.
Tinker upcycling ideas from old newspapers
Take the upper left corner of the open magazine and place it in the fold. Trace the edge of the resulting triangle with your fingers. Take the lower left corner of the magazine, fold it over and also fold it into a triangle so that the corner meets the edge of the upper triangle. Do this with each page of the magazine. When you are done with it, take the newly created middle corner from each side and lead them to the fold of the magazine. Caution: Do not press the side flat, it should remain arched! At the end you set up the Christmas tree, you can spray it with paint and decorate it with stars.
Tinker stars out of wooden clips
You can easily make more beautiful upcycling Christmas decorations out of wooden pegs. To do this, the wire holders of the wooden clamps have to be removed so that two halves are created. Paint it white and let the wood dry. Now you can put the clamp halves together again and connect them with wood glue or hot glue. The stars can be used as coasters, table decorations or pendants in a particularly beautiful way.
