The Google TV user interface actually has only one purpose: to bundle your digital entertainment offerings in a meaningful way so that you don’t have to click deep into the streaming apps every time to continue following your favorite content. However, various users of the streaming platform complained about problems with the performance of Google TV and quickly clogging up storage space on the associated Chromecast devices.
The tech giant has finally upgraded and revealed that it made some adjustments to make the user experience smoother and free up additional storage space.
According to an update note from Google, the developers of the digital group have missed some efficiency upgrades that allow Google TV to work more resource-efficiently. The main memory (RAM) and computer core (CPU) of your streaming hardware should be less stressed – and the streaming performance should be improved.
New feature: “Free up disk space”
The current update wave for Google TV also includes the new function “Free up space”, which can be found in the settings under “System” and “Storage”. If you activate this storage space cleaning, the hard drive of your streaming device will be cleaned of unnecessary app and cache data, thus freeing up more storage space.
