Update Gran Turismo 7: September update 1.23 imminent, new cars unveiled

Always at the very appreciable rate of one update per month, Polyphony Digital expands the content of Gran Turismo 7 with new content. The month of September is coming to an end, but the Japanese studio plans to deploy a wave of new products in the next few days.

Kazunori Yamauchi, director of Polyphony Digitalconfirmed the good news on his account Twitter this week, revealing as always the shadows of the 3 cars that will be added. And according to the community, it could be of the electric prototype Volkswagen ID.Ra sports coupe like the Nissan Silvia S14 or the Toyota Soarerand some Porsche Vision GT Spyder. Well, for the latter, it is not a question of a supposition, but of an affirmation, Porsche himself having announced that the concept car virtual and electric would land via the next patch and even more precisely on September 29so Thursday.

Update : it has just been confirmed by a trailer that update 1.23 will bring tomorrow the Volkswagen ID.R ’19, Nissan Silvia K Model S (S14) ’94 and Porsche Vision Gran Turismo Spyderas well as the decorations California II and Tokyo II for scapes. These new features are illustrated on the next page.

Three new cars added!

Volkswagen ID.R ’19

The electric prototype that broke speed records around the world.

The body of the ID.R is made of carbon fiber with oversized fenders front and rear to generate maximum downforce. At 5.2 meters long, the car is relatively wide, but still weighs less than 1,100 kg. The dual motor all-wheel drive produces a maximum of 500 kW (670 HP)/650 Nm (66.3 kgfm), enabling it to do 0-100 km/h in just 2.25 seconds. These performance stats put it on par with other internal combustion engine racing cars. In fact, the ID.R has participated in many events around the world and has broken records. During the 2018 Pikes Peak Hill Climb, pilot Romain Dumas set a record of 7 minutes and 57 seconds, the first ever to go below the 8-minute mark. Then on the Nürburgring Nordschliefe, the ID.R set the record for the fastest lap for an electric vehicle with 6 minutes and 5 seconds. At the Goodwood Festival of Speed, it was the very first car to complete the legendary climb in under 40 seconds with a record 39.9 seconds.

Nissan Silvia K Model S (S14) ’94

The 6th generation Silvia appears with a higher level of prestige in a larger format.

The width of the S14 is 1,730mm compared to 1,690mm for the S13, with track width increased accordingly. The new model is also 30mm longer, at 4,500mm, and 5mm higher, at 1,295mm, to result in an overall more imposing body. The softened lines of the body further emphasize the width of the car. The K model is additionally fitted with 16-inch rims as standard. The engine is a new version of the SR20 from the S13. The highest K model is equipped with a intercooled turbo and develops 14 BHP more than the previous generation, being 216 BHP/28 kgfm and 157 BHP/19.2 kgfm for the naturally aspirated Q and J models. The basic suspension structure has also been carried over to the S13 with arms at the front and a multiple mounting system at the rear. The car was also available with the “Super HICAS” electronic rear wheel steering system.

Porsche Vision Gran Turismo Spyder

A futuristic and daring vision of the future of sports cars from Porsche.

The Porsche Vision Gran Turismo continues this tradition of the German manufacturer while being a modern and bold vision of the sports car of the future.
