update on their current games (Alan Wake 2, Control 2…)

During a meeting with shareholders, Remedy Entertainment talked about its many games in development. Alan Wake 2, Control 2 and its multiplayer or Vanguard, you’ll have to be patient!

The Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment has poked its nose into its accounts to the delight of investors. Along with some big financial numbers, we got an update on the progress of the games being developed. You will have to arm yourself with a little patience before having the opportunity to play it.

Alan Wake 2 and Control 2, Remedy advances step by step

Alan Wake 2 recently unveiled new images but where is the development really? As amazing as it sounds, Remedy is really aiming for a 2023 release.

Alan Wake 2 is in full production. There’s still a lot of work to do, but the game is starting to take on a more complete shape in a lot of areas. As communicated earlier, Alan Wake 2 will be released in 2023.

On the other hand, things are spoiling for Control 2 and the cooperative spin-off “Condor”. Both projects are still in the concept phase and as such, there is no definitive direction as of yet.

The Condor project, a game derived from the Control universe, is still at the proof of concept stage. The Heron project, a larger Control game (editor’s note: what’s next), is also at this stage and is continuing its prototyping.

The remake of Max Payne 1 & 2 and the free-to-play Vanguard

Yes, Remedy Entertainment has four games in the works, including the Max Payne 1 & 2 remake. However, like Control, that’s not happening anytime soon as the title is also in its concept phase. Even if the studio can rely on the originals, it is not said that it is enough to foresee a release in 2023.

Ditto for the “Vanguard” project, a free-to-play cooperative software co-published by Tencent, although progress has been made.

The Vanguard project, a free-to-play cooperative game that will be co-published by Tencent, has made good progress since the previous quarter. It is in the proof of concept stage and we have continued to strengthen the team. Vanguard and our other projects have benefited from the help of our subsidiary in Sweden.

Remedy is working hard and not just on these four games. To bring them to life, a lot of technologies are needed and the studio is also improving their tools.

Additionally, with the Northlight technology team, our priority has been to develop the necessary technology and tools that will serve a number of upcoming Remedy games.

For now, the health of the studio is still good with turnover up 55.9% compared to 2021. Profit and operating margin are however down.
