Two Ferrari drivers delivered a road race on the Simplonpass road near Ried-Brig VS. On Friday afternoon, the Valais canton police stopped the two speeders, as they wrote in a press release. The Ferrari drivers were on a 80 km / h route at 150 km / h – with two sports cars that have up to 560 hp.
The handlebars are a Swede and a Norwegian. They were driving their Bolliden towards the top of the pass when they were stopped by the police. The speeders were banned from driving and also had to pay a fine of several thousand francs.
Police knew about street races
The Valais canton police knew that at the beginning of September privately organized tours with sports cars should lead through Europe to Valais, as they announced. That is why they were carried out targeted speed controls on the Simplon and Grimsel passes.
In addition to the two speeding offenses, the canton police had to stop another 17 people, some of whom were traveling far too fast. These included other participants in the Tour of Europe. The speeders were shown to the public prosecutor’s office. (gin)
