(Boursier.com) — UPS announced plans to hire more than 100,000 seasonal workers ahead of the holiday season. The group is therefore maintaining last year’s level of seasonal hiring. The plans were unveiled shortly after an agreement on new five-year labor contracts covering around 340,000 employees represented by the Teamsters union in the US. The agreement attracted attention due to its rather attractive conditions for employees from a salary and social point of view. Last month, the Atlanta group lowered its annual revenue and profitability estimates, precisely due to increased labor costs and the loss of activity during the negotiation period with the Teamsters.
