Eva Longoria heard about Alisha's story through a friend, Yanis Marshall. The famous dancer, known in particular for having participated in Dance with the stars, launched an online fundraiser "to help this young girl's family", wrote the actress in the story. She thus called on Internet users to make a donation via the link created by the young man.

Yannis Marshall created the kitty for Alisha's relatives, writing on Instagram to be "disgusted by this news". "I try to understand but I can't. Alisha, 14, first harassed and then beaten up before being murdered by ambush by two 15-year-old teenagers. I don't have a strong enough word to express my grief towards the victim and his parents. A real tragedy, what sadness. I am shocked, disgusted, but above all afraid for my future children ", he explains, indicating that he wants "help as [he] can".

The alert had been given by Alisha's mother, astonished not to see her daughter come home, but also by the mother of one of the two teenagers involved. His son had come home telling him that he had hit a teenage girl with his partner. Both were held in the juvenile quarters of two penal institutions and face up to 20 years in prison.
