US box office: Superman & Batman’s dogs in the lead


The animated film “Krypto and the Super-Animals” takes the lead in the American box office. “Nope” by Jordan Peele takes second place for its 2nd week while “Thor: Love and Thunder” takes 3rd place in the ranking.

The DC Animated Movie, Krypto and the Super Animals takes the lead in the last weekend of July at the American Box Office with $23 million recorded.

In the feature film dubbed in VO by Dwayne Johnson, Keanu Reeves and Kevin Hart, Krypto, Superman’s dog asks for help from a band of animals who have just obtained superpowers, in order to free the Justice League.

Boop, the latest film by Jordan Peele, is in second place and registers an additional 18.5 million dollars. The feature film, which will be released on August 10 in our theaters, currently totals 80.5 million greenbacks in the United States.

Thor: Love and Thunder continues its momentum with 13 million garnered on American screens for its 4th week of operation. The Marvel movie currently totals $301.5 million at the US box office.

Minions 2: 1st animated film to cross the $300 million mark since the pandemic

Minions 2: Once Upon a Time Gru raises 10 million dollars in the 5th week and therefore totals 320 million greenbacks on American territory. It is the first animated film to cross the $300 million mark in the United States since the Covid pandemic, and since the release of Frozen 2 in November 2019.

Once Upon a Time Gru is currently 4% ahead of Minions, released in 2015. The first spin-off ended its North American run with $336 million, more or less on par with Despicable Me 2, the highest-grossing big score for the franchise at BO US with 368 million dollars registered.
