To remember

Things are moving this week in the top three at the American box office. Kung Fu Panda 4 must give up his number 1 place and land on the 3rd step of the podium. Dune 2 confirms its very good performance by remaining in 2nd place, keeping a very close score with Kung Fu Panda 4.

In first place, another cult franchise takes over: Ghostbusters: The Ice Menace. The film grossed $45 million in its first weekend. A start in perfect line with the two previous parts ($46 million for the 3rd in 2016 and $44 million for The Legacy in 2021).

After Ghostbusters: Legacy, released on December 1, 2021, Ghostbusters: The Ice Menace will arrive in France on April 10. Phoebe and Trevor, played by McKenna Grace and Finn Wolfhard, heroes of the first opus, will be back. Carrie Coon and Paul Rudd will also reprise their roles.

They will be supported in the pursuit of the specters by former hunters Peter Venkman, Ray Stanz and Winston Zeddemore, played by Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson.

Dune 2 resists!

Dune 2 remains on the 2nd step of the podium, one month after its release in the US. Let’s remember that Timothée Chalamet put in a great performance by being at the top of the two most profitable films at the US box office over the last eight months: Dune: Part II, therefore, and Wonka. He is the first actor to achieve this feat since John Travolta with Saturday Night Fever and Grease in 1978.

In terms of new features, let’s point out the arrival ofImmaculate, horror film with the new darling Sydney Sweeney, in 4th place. Always on the fantastic side, entrance of Late Night with the Devil in 6th place. Out of 10 films, the fantasy-horror genre is particularly present, with no less than 4 entries.
