WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Joe Biden said on Friday that the US military would parachute humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip in the coming days, deeming the amount of aid allowed by Israel to enter the devastated Palestinian enclave very insufficient by war.

The President of the United States made this announcement the day after the deaths of dozens of Gazans civilians during an aid distribution managed by the Israeli army in northern Gaza.

Joe Biden said he was determined to do everything in his power to increase deliveries of humanitarian aid to Gazans, while Washington continues to hope for the conclusion of a negotiated truce between the belligerents.

Several countries, including France and Jordan, have already dropped humanitarian aid over Gaza with Israel’s agreement.
