US presidential election 2020: program changes on German TV channels

The German TV stations are reacting to the head-to-head race in the USA and are changing their programs on the day after the presidential election.

It is a neck and neck race between Donald Trump (74) and Joe Biden (77) for the US presidency. The German TV stations will change their programs accordingly on the day after the election, Wednesday (November 4th).

"Focus" in the first

The first broadcasts a 45-minute "hot spot" on the results of the US presidential election at 8:15 pm. The editor-in-chief of Norddeutscher Rundfunk, Andreas Cichowicz, moderates the program, in which, in addition to detailed election analyzes, ARD correspondents explain the background to the outcome of the election in interviews. Particularly in focus: updated forecasts and projections from the competitive "swing states". Which states are still open and how many voters are still available? The "ZDF special" at 7:30 pm with presenter Matthias Fornoff now bears the additional title "Trump or Biden? – Hangover in the USA".
