(CercleFinance.com) – The Commerce Department reported a 1.4% drop in housing starts in the United States last month, to 1,382,000 at an annualized rate, a level however a little higher expected by economists.
Building permits for US housing – supposed to prefigure future housing starts – also sank by 1.6% to 1,330,000 at an annualized rate in December, thus slightly missing the market consensus.
