WASHINGTON, Oct 5 (Reuters) – The private sector in the United States created slightly more jobs than expected in September, the monthly survey by the ADP institute showed on Wednesday.

It estimates the number of private job creations at 208,000 over the past month, while the Reuters consensus was counting on 200,000, with estimates by economists surveyed ranging between 140,000 and 325,000.

The publication of the ADP survey had been interrupted for two months, the time to modify its methodology in order to improve its ability to reflect the evolution of the entire labor market.

It is published two days before the monthly report of the Department of Labor which should, according to consensus, show a slowdown in job creation to 270,000 in September after 308,000 in August. (Report Lucia Mutikani, French version Marc Angrand)
