USA: Composite PMI confirmed down to 52 in July

(CercleFinance.com) – The US private sector saw its growth slow down again in July, according to S&P Global, whose composite PMI index ultimately stands at 52.0, in line with its flash estimate, and after 53 ,2 in June.

For the record, it is the threshold of 50 that separates the expansion and contraction of a sector’s activity for the PMI indices: the higher the index is above this threshold, the faster the pace of expansion. .

‘Although manufacturers exited the contraction zone, overall growth was weighed down by weaker expansion among service providers,’ the investigators said.
