USA: decline in weekly jobless claims


(CercleFinance.com) – Claims for unemployment benefits in the United States fell by 20,000 during the week of December 5, standing at 211,000 against 231,000 (revised figure) the previous week, according to weekly data from the Department of Labor .

For its part, the four-week moving average – considered a better indicator of the underlying trend of the employment market – fell by 3,000 from one week to another, to stand at 227,250.

Finally, the number of people regularly receiving benefits increased by 1,000 to reach 1,671,000 during the week of November 28, the last week available for this statistic.
