USA: Fall in oil, gasoline and distillate inventories


(CercleFinance.com) – U.S. inventories of crude oil, gasoline and distillates all rose last week, data show
released Wednesday by the US Energy Information Agency (EIA).

Crude inventories rose 1.1 million barrels to 430.8 million barrels in the week of September 16, while gasoline reserves posted a week-to-week rise of 1.6 million barrels. on the other.

As for stocks of distilled products, which include heating oil, they increased by 1.2 million barrels.

The refinery capacity utilization rate intensified to 93.6% from 91.5% the previous week.

Oil prices, which were on the rise before the release of these figures, have returned to the red in response to the swelling of inventories. Minutes after the EIA’s announcements, US light crude lost 0.1% to $83.8 a barrel.
